The physical and psychological growth and well being of the children
participating in the program are paramount. Emphasis is placed on
safety, sportsmanship, age appropriate competition and the maintenance
of a child friendly environment. Coaches, players, parents, volunteers
and all others involved in the Association’s programs are responsible
for conducting themselves in a manner consistent with this philosophy.
Well-developed youth baseball programs offer numerous benefits to
their participants. These benefits include: improving physical fitness
through exercise; stress release; developing citizenship; inspiring
children with a goal; establishing rudiments of teamwork and fair play;
developing leadership; development of the virtues of character, courage
and loyalty; and exposing children to healthy levels of competition.
Through its programs the Hopedale Youth Baseball Association aims to
provide these benefits to the girls and boys of the Hopedale community.
All programs will be committed to developing baseball skills,
teaching the fundamentals of baseball and/or team play. Each program
(e.g. Tee Ball, Juniors, Seniors, Majors, Babe Ruth Summer Leagues and
travel teams... ) will have a defined set of goals and objectives that
will include expectations related to age appropriate levels of
competition. These goals and objectives will be annually reviewed by the
board of directors.
The Association encourages volunteerism and is committed to
maintaining open lines of communication between its
board of directors,
coaches, parents, players and other members of the Hopedale Community.
